Allergic Reactions to Air Fresheners and Scented Candles

Finally, I have found sound research that documents and acknowledges the reactions many people have when they step into a home with scented candles or those horrific plug ins. Not only do they omit VOC’s, volatile organic compounds, but these organic compounds often include formaldehyde, petroleum distillates, limonene, alcohol and esters. It just makes good sense that this will irritate your nasal passages and irritate your lungs.

For those families with asthmatics or suffer more respiratory infections in the winter, make sure you stay away from homes and stores (like during Christmas time) and you may just reduce symptoms drastically. Of course, stop all the use at home and see what improves for one year.

Tis the Season for Your Antibiotic

Antibiotics have long been at the top of the list of medical reactions and side affects to the average human. Americans still take them like they are candy and end results are becoming more and more frightening. We take them for infections, acne, dental work, invasive procedures and we add them to most of our meat products to keep the animals well too. We give more than any other country in the world, no matter how many warnings from the World Health Organization. They say we are putting the rest of the world at risk. We are producing more and more SUPER BUGS cannot be killed and this is costing many lives. The problem is most severe in the hospital where the weak patient cannot fight of these amazing bugs.

We kill off the good bacteria in our gut that so often makes us more susceptible to more and more infections. It also affects how we digest our nutrients and has even been directly tied to weight gain when used frequently.

Antibiotics save lives! The overuse of antibiotics takes lives! Use them when there is no other way to help combat your infection, but avoid them at all costs when they are not absolutely necessary.
If you were or are a frequent user, make sure you are taking probiotics and eating active yogurts too. Prevention is still the best treatment, but when you have to use an antibiotic you must protect yourself against the side-effects too.

Orange Vs. Orange Juice

The marketing folks would have you believe you will receive as much, if not more nutrition from the special clear looking juice they have on sale at the local grocery store. Let’s take a minute and review this idea.

Orange first! An apple has over 300 elements that help your body heal, grow and encourage good digestion and protection against many disease processes. Haven’t you heard: an orange a day keeps the doctor away! An orange has vitamin’s C, A, E, K, B6, thiamine, riboflavin, folate, pantothenic acid, choline, and minerals: calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, zinc, selenium, as well as, a load of omega 3 fatty acids. An orange even has 2 grams of protein per serving. 

Orange juice: first it is pasteurized to kill all the bad bugs. Have you ever heard of anyone receiving food poisoning when they juice their own fruits at home? I have yet to hear about this risk, but we must pasteurize for the masses. When we pasteurize most of the nutritional value of the juice has now been destroyed for good. Then the juice (that is not concentrate) are kept in aseptic storage, which involves stripping the juice of oxygen, and kept in million-gallon tanks for up to a year. They then add back in flavoring packets to make it like the public wants it, as well as adding vitamin C and calcium just to fool you into believing it is nutritious.

Which is best: THE ORANGE! Don’t be fooled and mis-led to spend so much money for nothing.
