REFUND POLICY
Last updated: August 30, 2026
This Refund Policy applies to the consumer Independent Medical Case Review purchased through SecondOpinion.org. Separate attorney, expert-witness, or consulting engagements are governed by their individual written agreements.
Full Refund Before Substantive Review
You will receive a full refund if:
• SecondOpinion.org declines your request before substantive review begins.
• You cancel your request before substantive review begins.
• You are charged more than once for the same request because of a payment or technical error.
Substantive review begins when the physician starts reviewing the submitted medical records or preparing the analysis. Submitting the intake form, making a payment, or sending records does not by itself mean that substantive review has begun.
After Substantive Review Begins
After substantive review begins, the fee is generally nonrefundable because professional time has been committed to the case.
A refund will not ordinarily be provided solely because you disagree with the conclusions, do not receive the outcome you hoped for, decide not to use the completed review, or later choose not to pursue the matter.
Nothing in this policy limits any refund or consumer right required by applicable law.
Incomplete Information or Records
If the supplied information or records are incomplete, illegible, unauthorized, or insufficient, additional information may be requested.
If the request is closed before substantive review begins, you will receive a full refund. If substantive review has already begun, any refund will be determined based on the work performed and the circumstances.
Exceptional Circumstances
SecondOpinion.org may provide a full or partial refund in exceptional circumstances, including when the service cannot be completed for reasons within its control. This does not create an obligation to issue a refund in other situations.
Requesting Cancellation or a Refund
To request cancellation or a refund, use the contact form at SecondOpinion.org. Include the purchaser’s name, the email address used for the purchase, the approximate purchase date, and a brief explanation of the request. Do not include medical records or sensitive medical details in the message.
Processing
Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method. SecondOpinion.org will initiate the refund promptly, but the payment processor or financial institution may require additional time before the credit appears.
